Joe sings “Ol Man River”. A lament, intones by McIlwain in a way that is as powerful and touching as it is opulent. He, Daniel and Vermeulen prove to be the most celebrated soloists in the excellent ensemble, into which the new citizens’ choir fits seamlessly.
